ABOUT THE POSITION:

Buchwald is seeking a highly motivated and creative Social Media & Communications Associate to maintain and coordinate the agency’s digital presence while supporting internal and external communications initiatives. This role requires someone who lives and breathes social media, while also having the ability to craft engaging written communications that represent the voice of the company. The ideal candidate is a strong storyteller with a passion for entertainment, talent, and digital culture, capable of building brand awareness and engagement across platforms and audiences. Candidate should have a strong interest and passion in social media management, PR, or digital and branding.

This opportunity is currently available in-person, in our Los Angeles Office.

Position Requirements

General Responsibilities:

Manage agency’s social media presence across all platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, etc.)
Create and edit engaging multimedia content (photos, videos, reels, graphics, stories, etc.) optimized for platform-specific audiences.
Monitor trends, hashtags, and viral moments in digital conversations.
Engage with followers, talent, and industry partners by responding to comments, DMs, and tagged content.
Develop content calendars that align with company announcements, client successes, industry trends, and cultural moments.
Draft and distribute internal and external communications, including newsletters, company updates, press releases, and announcements.
Collaborate with branding, PR, and talent teams to highlight client achievements, company initiatives, and agency culture.
Monitor social platforms for engagement opportunities, industry trends, and reputational risks; share insights and recommendations with leadership.
Support live event coverage, including premieres, panels, conferences, and in-office initiatives.
Track and analyze social media performance data, producing regular reports with actionable insights.
Ensure all messaging and content adhere to brand guidelines, tone, and legal standards.
Maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and partners to support publicity efforts.

Essential Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
1–2+ years of experience in social media, branding, influencer marketing or digital content
Deep knowledge of all major platforms and emerging trends.
Proficiency in content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
Strong writing and storytelling skills with a keen eye for visuals.
Analytical mindset with ability to interpret social performance data.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple projects.
Creative self-starter with a proactive, collaborative, and fast-paced work style.
Passion for entertainment, influencers, and digital culture.

COMPENSATION

The base hourly rate for this position is in the range of $22 - $25/hr. This position also is eligible for full-time employee benefits. Ultimately, wages may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, business sector, and geographic location, among other criteria
