Job Description

Internship Opportunity – Independent Film & Media Production Company

Location: Santa Clarita, CA (Remote candidates welcome; local candidates may have in-office and on-set opportunities)

Compensation: Unpaid – For College Credit Only (Must be currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate program and eligible to receive credit)

Schedule: Flexible; 10–20 hours per week depending on school requirements

About Us:

We are a small but award-winning indie production company specializing in short films, feature films, commercials, and music videos. In addition to our film work, we co-produce:

  • A book-focused YouTube channel (with accompanying social media platforms)
  • A book podcast
  • A comedy podcast

We work on everything from scripted narrative projects to engaging online content, and we’re looking for passionate, self-motivated interns to join our team.

What You’ll Do:

Our interns get hands-on experience across multiple areas of film and media production, marketing, and content creation. Tasks may include:

  • General office/administrative work (organizing receipts, digital filing, scheduling)
  • Script reading and writing coverage
  • Drafting newsletters and social media posts for our company and partner projects
  • Assisting with marketing campaigns for upcoming film and podcast releases
  • Researching industry trends, potential collaborators, and promotional opportunities
  • Outreach to potential podcast guests (authors, comedians, and creatives)
  • Assisting with pre-production planning and production coordination
  • For local interns: potential in-person days in our Santa Clarita office and occasional on-set experience if productions are underway

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent writing and communication abilities
  • A proactive, resourceful, and detail-oriented approach
  • Comfort working independently and meeting deadlines
  • Interest in film, media, publishing, or digital content
  • Basic familiarity with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive)
  • Social media skills (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook) a plus
  • Experience with Canva, Photoshop, or basic video editing is a bonus, but not required

Why This Internship?

This is a great opportunity to see the full spectrum of independent content creation—from concept to completion—while building valuable skills and industry contacts. Our interns are involved in real projects, not coffee runs, and you’ll gain insight into both the creative and business sides of production.
