SUMMARY


The Director, Corporate Communications, working closely with the Chief Communications Officer and broader executive leadership team, has responsibility for development and implementation of comprehensive corporate communications strategies which effectively position Hallmark Media and its leadership in the entertainment industry. This includes partnering with the Chief Communications Officer to ideate and execute the company’s communications and media relations plans that support the organization’s key external clients and management of industry relations with business, trade, and occasional consumer press. Will also partner with all internal departments including; distribution, ad sales, programming, research, and SVOD, to effectively communicate the networks messaging and elevate brand and executive awareness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPSONSIBILITIES


  • Execute communications objectives and develop strategies to convey Hallmark Media and its growing business portfolio to the media and general public
  • Work closely day to day with senior leadership and provide guidance to devise strategies that elevate the company and its executives in the marketplace
  • Serve as main point of contact with business and trade media; strengthen relationships continuously with external media contacts and industry representatives
  • Determine and/or create opportunities to increase Hallmark Media’s profile through participation in key media coverage, industry functions, press conferences, speaking engagements, and screenings
  • Main liaison with distribution, international, ad sales, programming, SVOD, and research group; conduct key research and develop and pitch stories related to these business areas and their executives
  • Provide thorough and current information regarding Hallmark Media, its networks and platforms, and related operations to outside constituents in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Oversee corporate messaging, talking points, and executive speech writing pertaining to key industry events and business initiatives
  • Collaborate with Hallmark Media publicity and talent relations & events leaders on relevant business events and media opportunities relating to involvement of executives and trade press
  • Responsible for providing guidance, development and direction to coordinator position
  • Manage department budgets pertaining to corporate communications in collaboration with the broader communications leadership team

BASIC REQUIREMENTS


  • Minimum of 10+ years progressive PR/Communications Industry Experience
  • Prior leadership experience managing a PR/Communications function for a network(s)
  • Bachelor’s degree is required with emphasis in Communication, Public Relations, English, Journalism or related field highly desired


OTHER REQUIREMENTS


  • Experience in serving as an advisor to leaders, crafting media campaigns and messages; demonstrated ability to communicate substantive and accurate messages to a wide variety of audiences
  • Experience in design and development of a strategic communications program; previous experience in developing an external communication programs and strategies a plus
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment
  • Track record of gaining trust and delivering superior service
  • Collaborative, diplomatic and energetic work style to engage leaders to ensure the execution of communications programs
  • Demonstrated experience as a problem solver and negotiator
  • Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills
  • Proficiency using Microsoft applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc)
  • Entertainment industry and cable television knowledge preferred


Note:
Relocation will not be provided.


The salary range for this job is between $119,400 - $163,600 annually. Salary rate will take into consideration several factors including location.
