Job Description
Job description
You'll train on real client projects across three lanes: PR outreach, influencer/partnership development, and event coordination. You're not shadowing—you're doing the work under close feedback. By the end of the internship, you'll own a lane independently.
PR & Media
- Research art press, culture reporters, and relevant outlets
- Verify media contacts (never guess)
- Draft tailored press pitches and coverage materials
- Track press outreach, monitor for coverage, and write thank-you notes
- Learn the rhythm of relationship-building with journalists
Influencer & Partnership Outreach
- Identify and research relevant influencers, curators, and cultural figures
- Build outreach lists with verified contact information
- Draft partnership proposals and collaboration pitches
- Support influencer event coordination
Events
- Coordinate logistics for gallery openings, artist talks, and cultural programming
- Manage RSVPs, guest lists, and day-of support
- Capture coverage (social mentions, attendee posts, press hits)
- Support post-event relationship maintenance and thank-you outreach
Skills You'll Build
- Media research & verification — find outlets, identify the right reporter, never invent contacts
- Pitch writing — lead with the angle, tailor by audience, tight subject lines
- Relationship management — outreach, tracking, follow-up cadence, one-size-fits-one hospitality
- Event logistics — coordination, problem-solving, real-time support
- Professional judgment — confidentiality, embargoes, when to escalate, email etiquette
- Art world literacy — galleries, artists, curators, institutions, and the contemporary art market
What We're Looking For
- Curiosity & independence: You ask good questions, research thoroughly, and don't guess
- Relationship focus: You understand that PR is about people, not just pitches
- Accuracy: Details matter—contact info, names, spellings, facts
- Professionalism: You respect confidentiality, keep timelines, and escalate when unsure
- Art world interest: You're genuinely interested in contemporary art, galleries, artists, and cultural institutions (or willing to learn fast)
- Humility & speed: You fail fast, take feedback well, and iterate
Nice to Have
- Experience in PR, communications, or event coordination
- Familiarity with Slack, Asana, Canva, or similar tools
- An existing network in the art world or cultural spaces
- Portfolio of past PR/media work
