As the Head of Feature Film Marketing, you will develop the Marketing strategy for feature film distribution (Pay & Basic, Transactional, FTA, SVOD and AVOD) in the UK and Ireland. For this role you will seek to build a streamlined, commercial and innovative Marketing approach across two lines of business to best deliver for SPEs consumers, customers and key internal collaborators.

The main aim is to lead the UK and Ireland Film Marketing team to create and implement Marketing strategies which ensure all feature film product is being optimized both commercially and creatively across all distribution windows and formats. As well as delivering innovative and commercial campaigns, you will focus on partner marketing to ensure our retailers and broadcasters are receiving all the required artwork, assets and promotional approvals for our feature films respective windows.

What you'll do:

70% Feature Film marketing strategy and team management

  • Full responsibility for overall marketing budget and P&L on SPEs Feature film launches across all key studio windows outside of theatrical. Working with the Film Product Marketing managers to plan and implement innovative & commercial Marketing plans
  • Provide simple clear and industry leading asset management, delivery and approval processes making use of the combined oversight of two previously separate divisions
  • Development and management of a team of five Product and Customer Marketeers. Working alongside the Marketing Director UK & Ireland to develop a strategy, ways of working and team ethos to improve our film product portfolio across the Transactional and TVD windows
  • Act as the source of product information and strategy across every window in remit, starting from pre-theatrical through to HE FTO, early EST launch, physical launch, drafting/catalogue campaigns and broadcast making sure findings and economies of scale are brought from one window to the next
  • Align with the Head of Publicity and Promotions to ensure the Film Marketing Team is linking the publicity campaign to the retail and consumer activity
  • Work with the regional insights team to use consumer, broadcaster and shopper insights to accurately target and improve sales/ GP potential across all windows in remit
  • Ensure industry insight, future trends and competitor tracking are applied to drive new innovative marketing solutions across titles

30% Retail, Broadcaster and key internal and external collaborators

  • Maintaining representation and engagement with our key TV distribution and home entertainment retail partners, positioning SPE as the go to partner for new and innovative opportunities
  • Working with our UK and Ireland Marketing Director to establish more efficient and creative ways to align with key distribution partners KPIs, with a keen focus on Sky and free to air broadcasters
  • Support our heads of commercial in TV Distribution and Home entertainment ensuring we are delivering commercially responsible revenue driving Marketing campaigns and are aligned with our commercial teams KPIs
  • Manage the Theatrical relationship internally to ensure effective sharing of knowledge, assets and opportunities across the respective windows
  • Responsible for the top-level management of media (MGOMD) , procurement and creative agencies as well as working closely with the Head of Publicity and Promotions on publicity, social and third-party promotions agencies.
  • Plan and implement engaging events and presentations to best showcase SPEs product, performance and capabilities both internally and externally
  • Represent the studio at Industry body events

What you have:

  • Typically, 7-10 years of experience in Marketing preferably in the entertainment sector.
  • Strong interpersonal skills when working in a team and communicating with external stakeholders
  • Phenomenal negotiating and influencing skills
  • Confident and empathetic team leader
  • Business minded, commercially focused and able confidently control budgets
  • Proven record in delivering creative, innovative and commercial marketing campaigns in a complex multi-faceted organization or environment.
  • Demonstrated success in devising and implementing strategic marketing objectives and cascading these objectives and ways of working
  • Self-motivated team player and facilitator
  • Able to handle multiple projects in a dynamic/changing environment and seeing those projects through to completion
  • Can maintain outstanding relationships with agencies and third parties.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent experience required
