Cinematographer / Production Manager for AAPI Media

Position: Cinematography/ Production Manager
Location: In-Office (Pasadena, CA)
Job Type: Full-Time Monday - Friday (weekends as needed)
Salary: $3K-$3.5K per month (based on experience level)

GoldenTV is the first cable television and streaming platform that combines Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) stories into one limitless, creator-centric home. Our mission is to highlight and elevate AAPI voices through diverse content, from films and shows to exclusive interviews and more. We’re looking for a passionate and talented Camera Operator with a strong foundation in cinematography and production to join our dynamic team and help bring AAPI stories to life.

Responsibilities:

• Create the technical look and feel needed to achieve the visual direction implemented by the director of variety of projects, including AAPI-themed shows, interviews, promotional videos, and social media content to captivate and grow a large digital audience.
• Support the supervising producers, directors, and the creative team to create high-quality video content for broadcast, streaming, and digital.
• Support the needs of division leaders in planning and executing linear and digital content opportunities throughout the year
• Keep up with the latest trends in video production and equipment and evolve with the digital, streaming, and broadcast landscape.
• Support creative and logistical elements of production and event coverage to expand the brand's reach and impact
• Assist in all the phases of a project from a technical production perspective in ideation to delivery, ensuring all deliverables meet technical specifications for both cable and streaming platforms.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of video production experience in studio and on location, with an understanding of camera, audio and lighting elements and roles on set
• Able to operate a professional camera, lighting equipment, and work well under pressure while taking direction and being collaborative
• Report directly to Director of Original Programming and Director of Operations for workflow and on projects
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to wear multiple hats on set with a small crew
• Understanding of various video formats, codecs, and technical requirements for broadcasting and streaming.
• Strong portfolio showcasing a range of visual storytelling and ability to think outside the box and embody creativity
• Experience working on content for streaming platforms or television networks is a plus.
• Passion for storytelling, especially within the Asian American & Pacific Islander (AAPI) community, and knowledge of AAPI culture and entertainment is a plus.
